Make your own Sunscreen

It’s sunny outside!
Checkout how to make your own sunscreen with UV spectrum protection, and no added chemicals.

– Zinc oxide powder
– Olive Oil
– Coconut Oil
– Cocoa powder (tinted)

Did you know that there are 3 main types of UV radiation?
UV A- penetrates the skin on a deeper level and is the cause of skin cancers
UV B- causes sun burn on a more superficial skin level
UV C- doesn’t penetrate the Ozone layer, if the Ozone layer is weakened it may have an affect. (Look our AUS)

Using a natural sunscreen everyday is a great way to protect yourself against sun damage without increasing the amount of nasty chemicals our body is subject to everyday.

Active ingredient is Zinc Oxide (it scatters and reflects the UV radiation.

2 tablespoons Zinc Oxide
1/4 cup Fractionated Coconut oil

1. Combine the zinc oxide and fractionated coconut oil
2. Optional to add cocoa powder for tinted sunscreen

I like to place the sunscreen into little squirter bottles to make it easy to transport.
